Overview
Itinerary
It is considered one of the most beautiful and impressive Amazonian paradises in the Amazon of Peru Sandoval Lake , with a great diversity of species that in every corner of its waters shelter many lives such as aquatic plants, fish, turtles, alligators, giant river otters, birds .
Day 1: ENTRANCE TO THE JUNGLE AND VISIT THE MONKEYS
Pick up from the terminal/airport and transfer to Puerto Maldonado. Brief City Tour of the city and we depart in private transportation to the hostel where we will have lunch.
In the afternoon we take the boat to go on our excursion to the interesting Monkey Island. We have the option of taking a walk in a type of forest with impressive trees and going to look for species of monkeys such as the white monkey, martin monkey, squirrel monkey and other species that have learned to survive together inhabiting the place.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: HIKE THROUGH LAKE SANDOVAL
Early in the morning we depart by boat to the entrance of Lake Sandoval, where we will disembark and walk while appreciating the great variety of flora and fauna such as birds, monkeys, rodents, arachnids, insects, reptiles and amphibians.
Upon reaching the shores of the lake, you will enjoy a refreshing and relaxing swim and a typical jungle lunch and then take a rowboat and take a walk around the lake, this time we will look for birds such as hoatzines, cormorants, anhingas and river lions.
before returning to the hostel. At night we board a boat with flashlights to observe alligators on the beaches and other nocturnal animals.
Return to the hostel and dinner.
Day 3: NATIVE ADVENTURE
Breakfast and we go out to visit an indigenous family located 15 minutes away by boat. Once there, they will welcome us kindly and invite us to sit in one of their cabins.
The head of the family will tell us his adventures, some stories, his customs and will teach us a little about his dialect.
We return to the hostel, where we will have lunch. In the afternoon we will walk through the forest until we reach a suspension bridge where the Canopy will take place.
Then we will move to the platform to do Zip Line. We will immediately move to the Madre de Dios River to kayak. Finally, before dinner we head to the last excursion of the day, which is the search for Caimans with reflectors and flashlights to find them on the banks of the rivers.
Day 4: VISIT TO THE MACAWS
Early we leave by boat while we enjoy the beautiful sunrise in the Peruvian jungle until we reach the Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick, where we can observe the hundreds of parrots of different species that come to eat clay from the wall adjacent to the river, followed by 3 species of the most colorful macaws in America.
On the way back we will see the ronsocos, which are the largest rodents in the world, the sachavacas and the beautiful jaguar. Upon arriving at the hostel we will have a delicious breakfast. At the indicated time we transfer to our vehicle to return to Puerto Maldonado.
