DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO LIMA

Arrival in the Jorge Chavez International Airport of Lima, reception by a Representative of our Travel Agency and transfer to the Hotel selected in Lima, known as “The City of Kings”.

DAY 2: CITY TOUR LIMA

• Breakfast at your hotel.
• Free morning.
• In the afternoon, pickup from your hotel between 14:00 hrs to 14:15 hrs.
• Lima City Tour in the afternoon (from 14:00 a.m to 18:00 hrs)
• Hotel stay in Lima

Free morning in Lima and in the afternoon we will pick you up from your hotel to start the City Tour in Lima, in the journey we will do a stop in the small districts from Lima. Then, we will continue our journey in the tourist transportation in our way to Miraflores where we will see The Love Park, located in the pier, since where you can take beautiful photos with the view of the Pacific Ocean, have a panoramic view of de Huaca Pucllana, church, Pre Inca religious center and administrative inhabited between III and VIII century d.c. later we will take a walk around the Olivos park, we will arrive to the historical center of Lima where we will appreciate the Palace of Justice, the Walk of the Naval Heroes, the French Palace and colonial buildings such as the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Basilica Cathedral, the Municipal Palace, Plaza San Martín, among others. Following our tour of the Church and Convent of San Francisco, we will visit its impressive subterranean crypts known as Catacombs.

DAY 3: ARRIVAL TO CUSCO

• Pickup from your hotel to the airport to board your flight.
• Flight from Lima to Cusco
• Welcome and pick up from Cusco airport and transfer to your hotel.
• Hotel stay in Cusco

This day after you long trip from your country, we will start our activities in the afternoon. Pickup from the hotel to Lima airport to take your flight to Cusco (the flight last 1 hour 15 minutes). We need to be at the airport 2 hours before.

Our staff will be waiting for you and welcoming you at Cusco airport to take you to your hotel in the city of Cusco. You will have a free day with no scheduled activities to allow you to acclimate to Cusco’s altitude, which is located at 3,350 meters (10,990 feet) above sea level. Additionally, all hotels offer coca tea to help with acclimatization. We recommend that you eat light meals, drink plenty of water, and get some rest on this first day.

DAY 4: CITY TOUR

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Afternoon city tour of Cusco (from 13:00 PM to 18:00 PM).
• Overnight at a hotel in Cusco.

Arrival in the City of Cusco, reception and transfer to the Hotel selected by a Representative of our Travel Agency. Hotel in Cusco.

Rest of the morning to acclimatize to the altitude of 3,350 meters above sea level. Approximately.

Pick up from the Hotel between 1:00 p.m. to 1:20 p.m., to begin the visit to the City and nearby Archaeological Centers: The Tour will show us the impressive Colonial City built on Inca bases; we will visit the Cathedral; of Renaissance structure and with fine paintings from the “Cuzco School”.

Qorikancha, or Temple of the Sun; known as the Royal House of the Sun in Cusco. We continue with the visit to the 4 Archaeological Centers: Sacsayhuaman; great fortress located 5 km from the city. Qenqo; sacred amphitheater, center of worship of the god Puma, place where human sacrifices were possible. Pucapucara; red fortress due to the hue that its rocks acquire with the light of twilight and Tambomachay; temple to worship water. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 5: CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS – CUSCO

• Pickup from your hotel at 08:00 a.m
• Sacred Valley tour.
• One-way train journey from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, departing in the afternoon – Expedition Train Class.
• Our staff we will waiting for you at the train station to take you to your hotel
• Overnight in Aguas Calientes

Breakfast at the Hotel. Pick up from the hotel at 08:00 am to make our visit to the Sacred Valley.  We pick you up from your hotel in Cusco, where we will the town of Chinchero, where you will be able to appreciate ancestral textile craftsmanship. Then we continue our tour and visit Moray, circular terraces that served to acclimatize plants in the Inca era and Maras, the captivating salt mines of Maras, a centuries-old site still in use today as a small-scale salt production facility. Wander through the labyrinth of salt pools, and let your guide enlighten you about the extraction process and the role salt plays in the local economy. Finally, we will continue our visit to the town of Ollantaytambo, a typical town that still maintains the Inca urban structure, with its typical Inca streets. After we finish the tour we will take the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes (Town of Machupicchu, 1 hour 40 minutes’ trip.     Overnight in Aguas Calientes

DAY 6: SACRED VALLEY – MACHU PICCHU – MACHUPICCHU

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Today, you will visit Machu Picchu accompanied by our guide.
• Bus ride to the citadel of Machu Picchu (30 minutes)
• Guided tour of Machu Picchu of approximately 2 to 3 hours.
• In the afternoon, return by train from Machu Picchu to Poroy, or Ollantaytambo train station – Expedition Train Class.

Breakfast at the Hotel.  Pick up from the Hotel, transfer to the bus station, we arrive to the to the Lost City of the Incas, “Machu Picchu” in around of 30 minutes, then you will enjoy a guided excursion through the main buildings of the citadel such as: El Mirador, Temple of the Three

Windows, El Intihuatana, The Main Plaza, etc. We will return to the town of Aguas Calientes. Lunch at a local restaurant by your own.

In the afternoon, we will take the Train to return to the Poroy or Ollantaytambo train Station where our staff we will waiting for you to take you back to your hotel in Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 7: CUSCO – PUERTO MALDONADO – TAMBOPATA AMAZON

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Pickup from your hotel for transfer to the airport to board your flight.
• Flight from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado
• Reception at the airport upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, for the staff of the to the lodge.

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Cusco airport to take the flight to Puerto Maldonado, where the Tambopata National Reserve is located.

Upon arrival at Puerto Maldonado airport, your lodge staff will welcome and brief you on important navigation and security tips to apply during your jungle lodge stay. Next, he’ll transfer you from the airport to a local port to take a boat and begin to navigate the shallows of the Madre de Dios River. The boat trip will last approximately 25 minutes up to the exclusive Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción Lodge. Once there, make yourself comfortable in one of its enchanting wooden huts, raised off the ground on stilts. Or in one of its comfortable rooms.

Hungry? Well, head to the Casa Grande dining room, where you can enjoy a delicious buffet lunch made from local and fresh ingredients. After, as a way of digestion, start a gentle walk along the trail system of Inkaterra Concepción with our expert guide to becoming aware of the ecosystems of the Amazon basin. The Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción is home to a primary and secondary forest inhabited by exotic fauna and tropical plants.

Following, enjoy a boat ride in the Rio de Noche (night river) to see how the diurnal fauna gives way to the nocturnal species. With a beautiful sunset and a young night in the background, you will see alligators and other fantastic animals hiding on the banks of the river, as well as southern hemisphere constellations in the starry night sky. All this is in the company of our expert guide.

Once in your lodge, enjoy a tasty a-la-carte dinner made of jungle ingredients. After returning to your hut to take a deserved rest, swing in your hammock, and enjoy the starry nights offered by the jungle, and songs and whistles of the Peruvian Amazon.

DAY 8: TAMBOPATA AMAZON  – SECOND DAY

Wake up to the songs of wild birds, and parrots, and the cool climate of the Peruvian jungle! After a delicious breakfast in the dining room around 05:30 am, we will begin our fantastic adventure through Sandoval Lake, accompanied by our local expert guide. We will calmly navigate the water channels that feed the lake. Following, let ourselves be carried away by the calm waters of Sandoval Lake, appreciating the beautiful palm trees that surround it. Besides different types of birds, the endangered river otter, macaws, howler monkeys, anacondas, turtles, and even black caimans!

In the afternoon, we recommend climbing the exhilarating Inkaterra Canopy Walkway. The Canopy Walkway is a sophisticated and safe network distributed over seven ecologically constructed hanging suspension bridges, strung between eight treetop observation platforms above the forest floor. This is an unforgettable opportunity to observe the rainforest from the rooftop and gain a sense of its size. Ascend the first vertiginous tower 42 meters (138 feet) above ground, keeping an eye out for bright toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, monkeys and the three-toed sloth.

From one of the observation towers, we will enjoy a panoramic view of the Amazon world, understanding its dimensions. From this viewpoint, we will be fascinated by watching the stealthy 3-toed sloth, monkeys, woodpeckers, toucans, and trogons.

Later, we will return to the Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción. There, you can be encouraged to take the excursion of Selva Oculta (hidden jungle) under the moonlight. Provided with a flashlight and together with our guide explorer, walk through foliage and vegetation in search of unique species that only appear at night.

In case you want to relax, you can book a therapy session at the Nua Spa, immersed in the rainforest. From 19:00, you will have the chance to taste a delicious a-la-carte dinner, before going to sleep.

DAY 9: TAMBOPATA AMAZON – THIRD DAY

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll follow in the footsteps of our Inca ancestors. We’ll hike the first 3 hours from Santa Teresa (1,515m – 4,969ft). Along the way, we’ll see coffee and coca plantations. We’ll end at the Hydroelectric Power Plant (1,900m / 6,270ft), where we’ll have lunch and a break.

We’ll wake up early to take advantage of our last day in the Peruvian jungle! And a delicious, tropical breakfast from our lodge will be perfect for this purpose. Following, we’ll go to Inkaterra Bio Organic Garden, where we’ll learn about the tropical plants of the forest and their medicinal uses, according to the ancient knowledge of Amazon’s local communities.

After a tasty lunch in the Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción, we’ll enjoy paddling a wooden canoe on the Cocha Concepción (oxbow lake). This oxbow lake has a horseshoe shape and is formed by the branches of the old meander of the Madre de Dios River. There. you will appreciate Shanshos, flycatchers, and gray-necked cataras while listening in the distance to the songs of howler monkeys.

In this same zone, you will be able to see the remains of the Fitzcarrald steamship. Learn about its history and how it inspired Inkaterra to create the movie “Fitzcarraldo” filmed by Werner Herzog (Best Director Award at Cannes, 1982).

On the return to the lodge, before the dinner, visit one of the collpas (‘salty place’ in Quechua) on the Collpas Tierra Adentro tour. Although seeing wildlife is a matter of luck, learn how these clay walls attract the fascinating behavior of the mammals that hide near the lodge.

Afterwards, return to the lodge for a well-deserved rest and a delicious dinner.

Set off by boat from your lodge until you arrive at the airport in Puerto Maldonado to take your departure flight to Lima.  Upon to arrival to Lima, our staff we will waiting for you to transfer to Lima hotel and you take your flight to Lima and connect with your international flight.
