Nazca Lines Flight and the Magic of Cusco & Machu Picchu 09 Day

DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO LIMA

Upon arrival at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, a representative of our travel agency will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your selected hotel in Lima, known as the “City of Kings.” During the journey, you will have your first impressions of Peru’s vibrant capital city, famous for its rich history, colonial architecture, and exceptional gastronomy.

DAY 2: CITY TOUR LIMA

• Breakfast at your hotel.
• In the morning, pickup from your hotel at 8:00 a.m
• Lima City Tour in the morning (from 08:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m)
• Transfer to the bus terminal to board the tourist bus to Paracas, approximately 4 hours of travel.
• Hotel stay in Paracas

After breakfast at your hotel, our team will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. to begin a fascinating Lima City Tour. During the morning excursion, from 08:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., you will explore the most important attractions of Peru’s capital, discovering its colonial heritage, historic landmarks, and modern districts while enjoying panoramic views of the city.

At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to the bus terminal to board a comfortable tourist bus to Paracas, enjoying an approximately 4-hour journey along the beautiful Peruvian coast.

Upon arrival in Paracas, transfer to your hotel and free time to relax and enjoy the peaceful seaside atmosphere.

DAY 3: FLY OVER THE NAZCA LINES

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Transfer from your hotel to the Pisco aerodrome (approximately 30 minutes).
• Scenic overflight of the Nazca Lines departing from the Pisco aerodrome.
• Free afternoon to relax or enjoy Paracas at your own pace.
• Overnight stay in Paracas.

After breakfast at the hotel, our team will transfer you from your hotel to the Pisco aerodrome, located approximately 30 minutes away. Upon arrival, you will board your scenic flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines, one of Peru’s most fascinating archaeological wonders. During the overflight, you will have the opportunity to observe enormous ancient geoglyphs etched into the desert, including iconic figures such as the Monkey, the Hummingbird, and many others.

After this unforgettable experience, you will return to Paracas, where you will have a free afternoon to relax, explore the bay, enjoy the ocean views, or discover the charming atmosphere of this coastal destination at your own pace.

DAY 4: BALLESTAS ISLAND

• Islas Ballestas Tour from 08:00 a.m to 10:00 a.m aprox.
• Transfer from Paracas to Ica (1 hour trip)
• In the afternoon visit to the Oasis of Huacachina, dune buggy ride, sandboarding.
• Touristic Bus from Paracas to Lima (4 hours trip approx.)
• Overnight in Lima

After breakfast at the hotel, we will begin the excursion to the Ballestas Islands. During this approximately 2-hour boat tour, you will visit the different islands and observe an extraordinary marine wildlife, including large colonies of sea lions resting on the beaches and rocky formations, as well as seals. You may also spot Humboldt penguins living in small caves and a great variety of coastal birds such as cormorants, boobies, pelicans, seagulls, and other native species. After the excursion, you will have free time to enjoy lunch on your own.

In the afternoon, we will travel to Ica, located approximately 1 hour away, where we will visit the famous Huacachina Oasis. There, you will enjoy an exciting buggy ride through the desert dunes. This adventure includes sandboarding and an unforgettable journey across the spectacular dunes of Huacachina, going up and down the golden sand hills while admiring breathtaking desert landscapes.

At sunset, we will continue our journey back to Lima, with an approximate travel time of 4 hours. Overnight stay in Lima.

DAY 5: ARRIVAL TO CUSCO

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Pickup from your hotel to the airport to board your flight.
• Flight from Lima to Cusco
• Welcome and pick up from Cusco airport and transfer to your hotel.
• Hotel stay in Cusco

This day after you long trip from your country, we will start our activities in the afternoon. Pickup from the hotel to Lima airport to take your flight to Cusco (the flight last 1 hour 15 minutes). We need to be at the airport 2 hours before.

Our staff will be waiting for you and welcoming you at Cusco airport to take you to your hotel in the city of Cusco. You will have a free day with no scheduled activities to allow you to acclimate to Cusco’s altitude, which is located at 3,350 meters (10,990 feet) above sea level. Additionally, all hotels offer coca tea to help with acclimatization. We recommend that you eat light meals, drink plenty of water, and get some rest on this first day.

DAY 6: CITY TOUR

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Afternoon city tour of Cusco (from 13:00 PM to 18:00 PM).
• Overnight at a hotel in Cusco.

Arrival in the City of Cusco, reception and transfer to the Hotel selected by a Representative of our Travel Agency. Hotel in Cusco.

Rest of the morning to acclimatize to the altitude of 3,350 meters above sea level. Approximately.

Pick up from the Hotel between 1:00 p.m. to 1:20 p.m., to begin the visit to the City and nearby Archaeological Centers: The Tour will show us the impressive Colonial City built on Inca bases; we will visit the Cathedral; of Renaissance structure and with fine paintings from the “Cuzco School”.

Qorikancha, or Temple of the Sun; known as the Royal House of the Sun in Cusco. We continue with the visit to the 4 Archaeological Centers: Sacsayhuaman; great fortress located 5 km from the city. Qenqo; sacred amphitheater, center of worship of the god Puma, place where human sacrifices were possible. Pucapucara; red fortress due to the hue that its rocks acquire with the light of twilight and Tambomachay; temple to worship water. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 7: CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS – AGUAS CALIENTES

• One-way train journey from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, departing in the afternoon – Expedition Train Class.

Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up at 08:00 a.m. to begin our unforgettable excursion through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our first stop will be a traditional Andean home in the community of Raqchi, where you will discover ancestral textile craftsmanship and learn about ancient weaving techniques preserved by local families for generations. During your visit, you will also have the opportunity to interact with llamas and alpacas while experiencing authentic Andean traditions and rural life.

We will then continue to Moray, an impressive archaeological site composed of circular terraces believed to have been used by the Incas as an agricultural experimentation center for crop acclimatization. Surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery, this fascinating site offers a unique insight into the advanced agricultural knowledge of the Inca civilization.

Next, we will visit the famous Maras Salt Mines, a spectacular complex of hundreds of salt pools carved into the mountainside and still used today by local families. As you walk through this extraordinary landscape, your guide will explain the traditional salt extraction process and the importance of this activity to the local economy since pre-Inca times.

Finally, we will arrive at Ollantaytambo, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved Inca towns in Peru, where narrow cobblestone streets and original Inca structures continue to reflect the living history of the Andes. After the tour, we will board the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), enjoying a scenic journey of approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes through stunning valleys and cloud forest landscapes.

DAY 8: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Today, you will visit Machu Picchu accompanied by our guide.
• Bus ride to the citadel of Machu Picchu (30 minutes)
• Guided tour of Machu Picchu of approximately 2 to 3 hours.
• In the afternoon, return by train from Machu Picchu to Poroy, or Ollantaytambo train station – Expedition Train Class.
• Hotel in Cusco

After breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up and transfer you to the bus station to begin the ascent to the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu. After an approximately 30-minute bus ride through breathtaking mountain landscapes, we will arrive at one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Once inside the citadel, you will enjoy a guided tour through the most important sectors of Machu Picchu, visiting remarkable sites such as the Main Plaza, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Intihuatana, the Sacred Temple, and the famous viewpoints overlooking the ancient Inca city. Throughout the tour, your guide will share the fascinating history, architecture, and mysteries surrounding this extraordinary archaeological sanctuary.

After the guided visit, we will descend by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant on your own and explore the town at your leisure.

In the afternoon, we will board the train back to Poroy or Ollantaytambo station, where our staff will be waiting to transfer you comfortably back to your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 9: CUSCO – OUT
