Colonial and Modern Lima

In this tour the tour is given by the visit to the historic center of Lima, the promenade of the Republic, Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor with its distinctive buildings: Government Palace, Cathedral Basilica; Plaza de Armas, the archiepiscopal and municipal palaces, the station of the destitute and old streets with colonial mansions and balconies of Moorish style. Municipality of Lima, the Temple of San Francisco, where we will visit the cloisters, catacombs, and the religious museum, we tour the main streets where the colonial mansions are located. We visit the Monumental Convent of San Francisco, which is the largest sample of colonial art in America. The Coral room and the Library of the monks, the sacristy, with its collection of canvases by Zurbarán and Rivera are appreciated. The Great Courtyard of the main cloister, finely decorated with Sevillian tiles from the 16th century, its beautiful Moorish arches and the underground crypts, known as the catacombs. Later we will visit the most traditional residential areas of Lima: San Isidro, El Olivar, and Larco Mar, including the Parque del Amor where we will have a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. Transfer to the hotel.
