Machu Picchu Tour One Day with Peru Rail and inka rail Trains Company

Machu Picchu – the world famous ‘Lost City of the Inca’s – was rediscovered by archaeologist Hiram Bingham in 1911 after 500 years of lying hidden and untouched in the cloud forest.  These ruins are undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and enigmatic ancient sites in the world.  This small but extraordinary city perched atop a mountain at 2,430m is invisible from below and completely self-contained – it is surrounded by agricultural terraces sufficient to feed the population, and watered by natural springs.  Most interestingly, it is clear that Machu Picchu was no ordinary Incan city – its layout and architecture suggests that it was utilized as a secret and exclusive ceremonial settlement rather than a population center.

We have two train companies that go to Machupicchu: Peru Rail and Inca Rail. We offer complete packages of Machupicchu 1 day or 2 days with overnight. The tour of Machupicchu starts with the pick up from the hotel and we head towards the train station. After that we traveled an average of 4 hours from Cusco to Aguas Calientes (town of Machupicchu). Our guide will be waiting for you at the train station to visit the Inca citadel of Machupicchu. Here we will have a guided tour of approximately 3 hours throughout the Inca Citadel. Afterwards we will have free time to take photos and if you wish you can stay a little more time on your own, since the return buses go down and up all the time to the citadel. Also when you take the return train we will be waiting at the train station to take you back to your hotel.
